  • Adam Laurent

    FOUNDER & CFO. Olympic Athlete

Much of my early life was spent chasing a dream, and I ascended the ranks of the cycling world to become an Olympian and two time world championship medalist. Seeing the athletic world from some of its pinnacles, i realized early that as iterated as the technical side of performance was, there was still much room for improvement on the human optimization and experience side. This has guided much of my professional efforts since those days.

As a world class athlete, opportunities unfolded to be both talent and creative on global marketing campaigns, along with participation in product and brand consulting, research and development, industrial design and manufacturing. Ultimately, it unlocked my entrepreneurial gene, leading to my own business efforts.

I co-founded Optimized Athlete, a digital health and performance company, which generated and led a human performance project that yielded medals at the London Olympic Games. This project begot the film festival winning documentary, Personal Gold, which captured the story of those efforts and outcomes. Those media efforts culminated in establishing Torchlight Media, that creates and delivers original content that inspires the world toward positive change, particularly around wellness and human potential.

I energize my work with a commitment to optimizing the human experience contained within my projects. I am ultimately a student of human potential and how it's realized from motivation to performance. Additionally, a background in finance has shaped a full array of analytic skills. My sweet spot is nimbly engaging both the business metrics and the human components of commerce, which makes for a potent combination when aimed at marketing.

Story is no small part of my approach to business, and story is what ultimately moves markets toward your products. In the world of tech, human stories stand as the true catalyst of engagement. Sixth Ring is a rare company formed at the confluence of ground breaking technology coupled with incredibly strong story telling ability, coupled with an amazing story to tell.
